As the lead agency for the development of sport in Scotland, sportscotland distributes Scottish Government and National Lottery funding in the best interests of Scottish sport. In short, we put sport first.

One of the conditions of any sportscotland award is that you acknowledge your award publicly. This is because when we invest in sport, we are investing the public’s money and it’s important that the public know how and where their money has been used.

Further, by highlighting where public money is being spent, we can demonstrate more clearly the direct impact that our work has on individuals, in communities and across the nation. Ultimately it helps us to make the case for sport.
