New upgraded Changing Rooms at Inverclyde, November 2005
sportscotland has embarked upon a new development at its National Centre Inverclyde in Largs, Ayrshire.
In 2005 the Centre benefited from extending its existing changing facilities in the main sports complex. A new changing room has been built, upgrading of existing female showers and a facility for disabled users. Also included earlier in the year was a new gents toilet adjacent to the main hall. All of these are on the ground floor for ease of access, close to the activity areas.
The first floor above the cafeteria has been doubled in size so as to provide an excellent area for lunches and relaxation to all the Centre users.
To complete the upgrading of the changing facilities, the existing gents changing room and shower areas are to be refurbished, ready for January 2006.
These facilities are available to the local community users, Xcel Fitness Suite members, James Watt College students and residential groups. By widening facilities for the disabled the Centre will be "open to all".
This £25,000 investment follows on from a previous investment in the sports hall changing room areas of £200,000. These improvements will be helpful to all the Centre users and raises the standards of service provided at Scotland's National Centre.
