Congratulations to Scots Paralympians

Body Text

At a reception on Monday 22 September to celebrate the performances of the Scottish athletes on Team GB at the Beijing Paralympics, Louise Martin CBE, Chair of sportscotland congratulated the Team on their achievements.

Louise Martin said: “It was an extremely successful Paralympic Games for Team GB, finishing second in the medal table only to China. We are very proud of all the athletes, including the 16 Scots in the Team. In particular it was great that for 11 young Scottish athletes it was their first Paralympic Games and I hope the experience they have gained from an international multi-sport event will see their performances go from strength to strength.”

“The achievements of our four medallists are fantastic and their performances will hopefully inspire and motivate young people to take part in sport and see that there are no limits to what can be achieved.”
