At sportscotland’s annual partners meeting in Perth this week the new sportscotland Lottery Fund strategy ‘Raising Our Game’ was presented. During the four years 2003/4-2006/7 an average of £25 million a year will be invested, which is more than the investment actually achieved during the previous four year funding period which averaged over £22million. However, this can only be achieved by managing a significant reduction in Lottery balances which are held in reserve, and in the light of the steep decline in income from Lottery ticket sales, this level of investment is unlikely to be sustained beyond 2007.
