BP Tourfest cricket coaching days

The BP Tourfest Cricket Coaching Days will hit off next week (Monday 7 July 2003) aimed at promoting the sport of cricket to young people across Scotland.
Sponsored by BP who contributed £50,000 to support this year’s programme, BP Tourfest is organised by sportscotland in partnership with local authorities and 12 national governing bodies of sport including disability sport. By reaching communities throughout Scotland it aims to tackle the issue of social inclusion, while promoting the benefits sport can bring in terms of health and education.
The roadshows will be led by Scottish Cricket’s Youth Development Manager Peter Drinnen who be assisted by Scottish Cricket’s Youth Development Officer’s along with several local qualified coaches.
Commenting on the roadshows Peter said: “The BP coaching days provide Scottish Cricket with a fantastic opportunity to take the game of cricket across the country giving children of all ages and gender an opportunity to experience the game and to see the fun and enjoyment that can be derived from it.”

- The BP Tourfest Cricket Coaching Days are open to 8-12 year olds and will visit 9 venues throughout Scotland in the following places and times:
- 7th July 2003 Ross County Cricket Club, Ross-shire 10.00am – 3.00pm
- 7th July 2003 Ayr Cricket Club, Alloway 10.00am – 3.00pm
- 7th July 2003 Kelso Cricket Club, Kelso 10.00am – 3.00pm
- 8th July 2003 Fochabers Cricket Club, Moray 10.00am – 3.00pm
- 8th July 2003 Ferguslie Cricket Club, Paisley 10.00am – 3.00pm
- 9th July 2003 Aberdeenshire Cricket Club, Aberdeen 10.00am – 3.00pm
- 10th July 2003 Strathmore Cricket Club, Forfar 10.00am – 3.00pm
- 10th July 2003 Clackmannan Cricket Club, Alloa 10.00am – 3.00pm
- 10th July 2003 Grange Cricket Club, Edinburgh 10.00am – 3.00pm
- The BP Tourfest Cricket Coaching Days will be sponsored by BP who also sponsor the Under 11 Kwik Cricket Summer Cups.
- BP Tourfest is a year-long programme of more than 40 sporting events, targeted at young people with a range of abilities. The programme is delivered by sportscotland in partnership with Scottish local authorities and governing bodies of sport.
