Landfill Tax to fund football at sportscotland, National Centre, Inverclyde

sportscotland, National Centre, Inverclyde in Largs, Ayrshire is to receive a substantial award from North Ayrshire Council as a part of a programme funded from Landfill Tax Credits.

Following a report submitted by the Centre, to the Corporate Services Committee of North Ayrshire Council, the National Centre in Largs is set to receive £10,500 to upgrade a 5-a-side pitch which is used by the local community and residential groups.

Under the Landfill Tax Credits Scheme, North Ayrshire, a Landfill Operator, can distribute up to 6.8% of the Landfill Tax it collects to enrolled bodies in order to fund projects which fall within the objects of the scheme.

sportscotland is matching this funding and the new upgraded facility will be available for use by 1st September 2004.
