New Chief Executive for Curling

The Royal Caledonian Curling Club (RCCC), in partnership with sportscotland, is very pleased to announce the appointment of Colin Grahamslaw to the newly created position of Chief Executive.  Colin, who has been the General Manager of the Scottish Hockey Union for over five years will take up post at the end of November 2004. 

“We are delighted to have attracted someone of such wide experience and background.  We feel that the RCCC will benefit considerably from the skills, abilities, enthusiasm and new ways of thinking that Colin will bring to this exciting new post.”

sportscotland has worked closely with the RCCC over the last 18 months which has culminated in the creation of this new CEO post.  This is another step on a process of modernisation of the governing body of curling, supporting it to drive the organisation forward.  This brings the total investment from sportscotland to the RCCC’s infrastructure and performance to more than £250,000.

Commenting upon his new position, Colin Grahamslaw said: “I am delighted to be offered the post of CEO and look forward to working with clubs, officials, partners and volunteers to continue the development of curling in clubs and local communities.  I hope to build on the successes achieved at the Olympic, World and European Championships to ensure that elite athletes achieve and sustain excellence in the future.”
