Nominate your sporting hero now!

The search is on for the next group of legends to be inducted into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame at the National Museum of Scotland, so nominate your saltire sporting hero today!

What is your most memorable sporting moment? Do you have childhood memories of a day in sport that changed your life? Or has an athlete had a big impact on your choice of sport? If so, this is the time to make it count by nominating your hero to be considered by the selection panel. Successful nominees will be recognised alongside the existing inductees of one of the most prestigious honours in Scottish sport.

Last year the late motorsport star Colin McRae MBE along with rugby legend David Sole, Olympic swimmer Catherine Brown and disability sportswoman Isabel Newstead MBE were inducted in recognition of their outstanding sporting achievements. They joined the likes of Manchester United hero Sir Matt Busby CBE, successful female distance runner Liz McColgan and US Masters winner Sandy Lyle.

Launched in 2002, the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame has been developed through a unique partnership between sportscotland and National Museums Scotland. Sports halls of fame are an internationally recognised way of acknowledging past performers, promoting excellence in sport and instilling sport as a key part of a nation’s culture.
