sportscotland tendering process

Body Text

Any new project that we put out to tender will be announced publicly via this website. At the same time, consultants and research agencies on our database will be sent an email informing them of the project.

Those consultants or agencies interested in tendering are invited to submit an Expression of Interest.

If you wish to be added to our list of research consultants and have appropriate experience please contact Kirsty Noble or Kristi Long. Please include contact name, name of organisation, address, email, telephone, fax and website, if available.

Expression of Interest

The Expression of Interest requires contact information and brief summaries about the skills available within the consultancy or agency, as well as details of any relevant experience.

It should be submitted by the closing date stated on the website brief,
Expressions of interest will be reviewed and between 3 and 6 agencies will be invited to tender for the contract. The number of agencies invited to tender will be dependent upon the nature and size of the project and the quality of Expressions of Interest received.

Submission of an Expression of Interest should not be taken as a guarantee of inclusion on the list of agencies to be invited to tender for the research contract. Those unsuccessful will be notified by email; those successful will receive an invitation to tender.

Invitation to tender

The consultants or agencies invited to tender will be sent an email inviting them to tender by a specified date (normally three weeks), together with any additional information or amendments to the brief.

Selection of tender

Assessment of tenders will be made under four broad headings:

  • Style and presentation of proposal
  • Experience and staffing
  • Approach, methods and timetable
  • Cost and value for money

Those consultants or agencies whose proposals are unsuccessful will be informed promptly, and sportscotland will provide feedback on the quality of the submitted proposal if requested.

sportscotland is not bound to accept any tender. On occasion consultants or agencies may be invited to give a presentation of their proposal to sportscotland to assist with the selection process.

Awarding of contract

The successful consultant or agency will be invited to a briefing meeting with relevant sportscotland staff. A contract will be issued following this meeting.
