Coaching Matters workshops are designed to discuss coaching issues and give coaches practical advice and a chance to share best practice with facilitators and other attendees.
Workshops tend to last for four hours and are a combination of networking and listening to the experiences and learnings from an expert in coaching and sport.
Overview
Example overview of Performance Planning workshop:
This workshop will consider how you tackle planning for high performance in individual sports. It isn’t a ‘technical – how to’ event, rather it is an attempt to take a critical approach to your existing practice. We will cover:
- The planning process – what you do and when/how you do it?
- Planning skills – the so-called ‘competences’ of planning and how you use them.
- Periodisation – single, double, multi-periodised seasons and why
- Contingency planning – dealing with the reality (and complexity) of high performance sport and how you solve these problems.
