Sport and People with a Disability: Aiming at Social Inclusion

In 2001, sportscotland commissioned research to explore the overall issue of participation in sport and physical recreation by people with disabilities. It was intended that the research would provide sportscotland and associated organisations with clear directions for strategies to encourage participation in sport by people with disabilities.

Good Practice Guide for Sport and Disability

sportscotland intends to produce a good practice guide on disability inclusion in sport for those who make sport policy or provide sporting opportunities. It will provie information, advice and good practice examples on how to involve people with different disabilities in sport, and how to support athletes with a disability to move up the performance ladder. The report will be published later in 2008. For more information, contact the reserach team on 0131 317 7200.
