Body Text

The Facilities development team provides a wide range of services to support the development of sports facilities.

We provide funding for projects and give advice on most aspects of facility provision including planning, design, construction, management, programming, economics and funding.

We work with a range of partners to deliver improved facilities for sport, including local authorities, sports clubs, community groups and the governing bodies of sport.

We also develop our own National Sports Centres at Inverclyde, Cumbrae and Glenmore Lodge.

Advisory services and technical support

Facilities Development undertakes research and provides advice and technical support on the planning, design and management of sports facilities. We also undertake project management for capital projects awarded grants from our funding programmes.

Our aim is to develop a network of sports facilities at local, regional and national levels that are accessible, affordable and of high quality, which facilitate increased participation and improved performance.

Through our Local, National and Regional Facilities and Planning Teams we offer advice on:

  • Planning
  • Design and construction
  • Management, programming, economics and funding
