This is sportscotland’s Publication Scheme as required by the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. sportscotland has regard to the public interest in the information it holds and has been mindful of the value of openness and transparency.
It lists seven classes of information under which sportscotland publishes or intends to publish information.
In formulating our publication scheme we consulted existing publication schemes. The scheme is also intended to be flexible and can be added to: we have added subjects currently not published.
About sportscotland
sportscotland is the national agency for sport in Scotland.
We passionately believe in the benefits of sport, from the enjoyment and sense of achievement that participation brings, to the shared pride that national success generates.
Our mission is to encourage everyone in Scotland to discover and develop their own sporting experience, helping to increase participation and improve performances in Scottish sport.
We aim to achieve our mission by leading and supporting our partners, investing National Lottery and Scottish Government funding where it counts and advising on policy and strategy for the future.
In all that we do, we strive to add value and act in the best interests of Scottish sport.
As a non-departmental public body, we work closely with the Scottish Government, advising Scottish Ministers and implementing Scottish Government policy for sport and physical recreation. We rely on working in partnership with public, private and voluntary organisations to contribute to increasing the nation's participation in sport. We are also responsible for distributing a share of National Lottery funds for the benefit of sport in Scotland.
