Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 (Dependent upon experience)
Scottish Gymnastics, the National Governing Body for Gymnastics in Scotland is looking to recruit a full time National Academy Coach for Men’s Artistic Gymnastics.
This is an exciting time for gymnastics in Scotland as we professionalise our coaching structures and continue to successfully implement our performance strategies ahead of the 2014 Commonwealth Games being hosted by the city of Glasgow. This position will have a strong focus on the performance development of gymnastics within the West region of Scotland.
Applicants should ideally be of HPC standard or hold a minimum of Senior Club Coach Men’s Artistic qualification and be able to demonstrate a proven track record within the sport at a national &/or regional level. Candidates should also be able to show experience of coaching children and young people, with an understanding of gymnastic progression pathways.
The successful candidate will:
- hold a minimum of a Senior Club Coach (SCC) qualification and be able to demonstrate a proven track record within the sport at a national and regional level.
- be an excellent communicator capable of working with a range of key partners and stakeholders.
- have the ability to assist, support and motivate other members of the Coaching Team in order to develop best practice throughout the SGA Performance Programme.
- be an energetic, enthusiastic and highly innovative coach, able to think laterally and grasp the opportunities this programme offers.
- have experience of mentoring club coaches.
- have strong organisational, planning and IT skills.
- be willing to continue with their own professional development on a formal and informal basis.
- be willing and available to work weekends and extended hours as required.
- have the ability to travel between sites.

The position is for an initial 3 year fixed-term contract.
