The sportscotland institute of sport are working with Table Tennis Scotland to recruit a World Class table tennis Performance Coach to train Scottish players in their preparations to compete successfully at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. The coach will be based in Edinburgh and deliver day to day coaching & training to key players as well as provide coaching to them at competitions around the world as they prepare for the Games.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• An internationally recognised coaching qualification (L4/Advanced or equivalent)
• Proven track record of coaching and improving performance athletes
• Coaching experience at Pro Tour competition level and above
• The ability to lead and deliver daily quality practice partner/feeder time on the table (including multi-ball) with the Scottish players
• Ability to communicate effectively and competent in the English language
• Experience of selecting athletes for teams and competitions
• Passion for the sport and for Scottish success
NOTES:
• This is a Contract for Services role until the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2014 (subject to annual review)
• Requires approx 15 hours coaching per week which will be paid at an hourly rate, appropriate expenses and a daily rate for competitions including per diem allowance (not exceeding £25k per year)
• A contribution towards flight costs may be available if relocation is required
• Potential to secure first months accommodation in Edinburgh if required
• Will report to the Institute High Performance Manager for Table Tennis
• There will be an expectation that the Performance Coach will perform necessary administrative duties in line with the role and make recommendations to the Table Tennis High Performance Group on athlete selections for competitions and teams
• Ability for the contractor to undertake separate private work (subject to prior approval)
