Volunteer Centre Network Scotland

Body Text

The Network of Volunteer Centres in Scotland exist to involve more people more effectively in volunteering to help make Scotland a better place to live.

Volunteer Centre Network Scotland is made up of 42 volunteer centres operating out of some 60 offices. Each centre is a locally managed independent voluntary organisation working hard to service local volunteer needs and priorities, but work together as a national network to develop volunteering in Scotland.

Volunteer Centres take any action which makes it easier for people to volunteer and aim to:

  2. Broaden the range of people volunteering
  3. Bring about more positive attitudes to volunteering
  4. Get volunteering better recognised at policy level
  5. Develop the capacity of volunteer involving agencies and volunteer
  6. Be well run, influential and effective organisations

Typically Volunteer Centres provide guidance, advice and training for volunteer involving organisations and operate a volunteering database with details of national and local volunteering opportunities.
