Volunteering in Sport Regional Development

A key component of sportscotland's contribution to Sport 21 has been to appoint six Volunteering in Sport Regional Development Officers. The Regional Development Officers are based at Volunteer Centres throughout Scotland.

Primarily the role of the officers is to:

Promoting volunteering in sport
Establish networks of knowledge and support based around volunteering in sport
Facilitate partnerships at national, regional and local levels between sport and the wider voluntary and volunteering sector
Assist local authorities, sports organisations and clubs establish effective volunteer programmes
Work with partner agencies to develop and promote examples of good practice in the field.
