Scottish Hockey nets sportscotland investment
Scottish Hockey received welcome news today when Minister for Communities and Sport, Stewart Maxwell, announced sportscotland will invest £645,384 in 2008 to develop the sport across Scotland.

Shinty scores with sportscotland funding
sportscotland recognises the cultural importance of the indigenous sport of shinty in Scotland and we are pleased to announce today a two-part investment in the sport totalling £247,145.  The funding will go to the Camanachd Association, the governing body of shinty, to support its continued development as well as an investment in Strachur Shinty Club in Argyll to assist with the construction of a new shinty pitch.

Records were shattered and Olympic qualification secured by Scotland’s swimmers at the British Swimming Championships in Sheffield last week and there was more good news for the sport today as Sports Minister, Stewart Maxwell announced an investment of £818,000 to the national governing body, Scottish Swimming.
