Procurement

This section has been created to assist suppliers who may be interested in bidding for contract opportunities.

sportscotland procurement policy is that Goods, Services or Works should be acquired by competition wherever possible in line with government policy and the relevant legislation.

Tendering for contracts

You can view and register for notification of contract opportunities on Public Contracts Scotland where all sportscotland contracts over £50,000 are advertised. In addition to sportscotland contracts, you will also find details of opportunities for many other Scottish public sector organisations on this site. Where we are seeking quotations for commissions between £2,500 and £30,000, quotes will be requested through a minimum of three appropriate suppliers.  Where we are seeking quotations for commissions between £30,000 and £50,000, quotes will also be requested through a minimum of three suppliers, however, this will be through the Quick Quote process on Public Contracts Scotland.

For further information on public sector procurement please visit the Scottish Government and Property Directorate website

Procurement Legislation

Procurement Directives cover higher value commissions for goods, services, and works (construction) contracts. As a public sector organisation, we have a legal obligation to comply with these rules.

The rules currently cover most commissions over the following values (excluding VAT):

  • Goods and Services: £214,904

Where these rules apply, tender opportunities will be advertised in the UK e‑notification system called Find a Tender Service as well as on the Public Contracts Scotland website.
