Duty Manager: The Pickaquoy Centre Trust

Role:  Duty Manager
Location:  Kirkwall, Orkney 
Salary:   £30,000 per annum. 
35-hour week. Attractive Benefits Package, including local Government Pension scheme - 15% employer contribution. 
 
The Pickaquoy Centre in Orkney is recognised as a first-class sports, arts, conference, and social facility, offering an excellent range of activities for all ages and abilities to enjoy. As a non-profit organisation with charitable trust status, it is an integral part of the community and has hosted world class arts festivals, music events, exhibitions, conferences, and sports competitions. This role is based in the beautiful Orkney capital, Kirkwall, an area steeped in culture with a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. 

We are looking for a Duty Manager to join our management team and assist in delivering the daily operation of the Pickaquoy Centre to the highest possible standard. 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the ideal candidate should have previous operational and supervisory experience, and experience of working in the sport and leisure industry, but we’re open to talking to you about the experience you can bring to the role.

The role requires an individual that can be a leader as well as a team player. You must have excellent organisational, communication and customer service skills with the ability to motivate a team using a positive and supportive approach.

This role is eligible for Interview Expenses (for travel to/from Orkney, but within the UK).
