Job Summary: The St Johnstone Community Trust have an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual to join their team as a Community Development Manager, a role which is key to fulfilling the charity’s objectives in developing our Sport, Education, and Wellbeing programmes along with their social inclusion initiatives. They are looking for someone who is highly experienced in programme development and income generation, with proven success in managing and motivating a staff team. This is a rare opportunity to join a charity which is developing and expanding, and which is committed to making a difference to the community in Perth & Kinross.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • To design a range of education, sport, and wellbeing programmes which are in line with the Trust’s strategic priorities and aligned to their three-year strategy.
  • To work with the senior management team to secure funding from a range of partners to deliver high quality programmes, including funding from grants and commercial partners.
  • To develop programmes of work which are funded directly through the procurement and commissioning of services from local providers.
  • To develop strong relationships and build positive networks with a range of partners and stakeholders across the education, health, sport, and social inclusion sectors, including statutory sector providers and third sector organisations.
  • To establish strong monitoring and evaluation models across all programmes, putting in place monitoring frameworks to collect relevant data and case studies, work with the Business Development Manager to use this information to produce reports for funders and key media stakeholders.
  • To manage a staff team across the sport and projects departments.
  • To manage and report on budgets set by the CEO.
  • To develop a volunteer strategy to maximise the use of volunteers throughout our Community Trust programmes.
  • To support the CEO in developing and achieving the charities overall aims and objectives.
  • To demonstrate Saints in the Community trust approach at all times.
  • Ensure all project KPI’s and outcomes are achieved for all projects.
  • Manage health and safety aspects of the projects.
  • Any other relevant task associated with the sport and community projects.

Candidate Specification:

  • Relevant experience in a similar role or life skills.
  • Experience of developing and managing high quality community engagement programmes.
  • Experience of service delivery to young people and/or adults.
  • Experience of developing, managing, and maintaining effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders including statutory sector partnerships, third sector organisations and service users.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to motivate others.
  • Experience of line managing and supporting staff and contributing to their CPD and wellbeing so that all staff thrive in their roles.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and deadlines.
  • Highly ambitious with a drive and determination to achieve success.
