Vice Chairperson: Greater Renfrewshire & Clyde Disability Sports Branch

Scottish Disability Sport & the Local Community are currently seeking a Vice Chairperson to assist with the development of the new Greater Renfrewshire & Clyde Disability Sports Branch.

The voluntary position is essential for the development of opportunities in sport & physical activity for people with a disability across Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde.

Responsible to: GRC Branch Management Committee

Main duties:

  1. Assist with the management of the Management Committee and the affairs of the branch.
  2. Help to guide all decisions taken by the Management Committee and sub committees.
  3. (In the absence of the Chairperson) chair and manage Committee meetings efficiently and fairly.
  4. In conjunction with the Secretary and Chairperson, prepare and present the annual report.
  5. Liaise with the Secretary, Chairperson and Coordinator on the Agenda for each meeting.
  6. Be completely familiar with the constitution and all other branch policies and procedures and with SDS rules and regulations.
  7. Help to prepare and submit any statutory documents that are required (ie.
  8. OSCR, grant aid reports, chairperson report prior to AGM)
  9. Liaise with the Treasurer and Chairperson to ensure that funds are spent properly and in the best interests of the branch.
  10. If unable to attend any committee meeting, send a written report to the
  11. Coordinator and the Secretary.

Time commitment:

  • Attend branch meeting approximately every 6 weeks
  • Flexible weekly working hours
